ACCC Small business courses – free course

Course Description:          ACCC – 13 short free online small business courses covering areas such as misleading conduct, pricing practices, consumer rights and guarantees, selling safe products, unconscionable conduct, country of origin labelling.

Who should attend this course?  Anyone with their own business or who works with clients and sales teams.

Length of time to complete: The time taken depends on how many modules you complete.  The time for each module varies by topic.

Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission workshops

Fee of $50 per workshop as at June 2023

Course Description:  The Commission runs workshops for aged care providers in home services and residential services. These courses are aimed at updating service providers on legislative changes and the regulatory focus of the Commission.

Workshops related to home services for Assistive Technology suppliers include

  • Monitor and assess the performance of your service: aged care home services workshop. This is designed to support aged care home service providers to develop their knowledge, skills, practical understanding of monitoring and assessing their own performance.
  • Effective Incident Management Systems. Provides information on processes, guidance and examples of incident management systems
  • Quality and safety in home services – provides examples of the 5 key areas of risk.

Who should attend this course?  Senior managers, board members, quality managers, team leaders and educators.

Length of time to complete: Approximately 2-4 hours per workshop

Ethics Training – The Ethics Centre – free course

Course Description: An introductory online course into ethics.  The course gives you an understanding of why you do what you do, and helps you make the right decisions to live your life the way you believe it’s worth living. There are 10 Unboxed sessions in the course. Once you sign up, your Unboxed session will automatically get delivered as an email to your inbox, twice a week.

Who should attend this course?  Anyone working with people.

Length of time to complete: There are 10 Unboxed sessions in the course delivered automatically as an email to your inbox, twice a week. Each course takes approximately 5 minutes.

NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You” – free course

Course Description:  This module is an interactive online course that explains the obligations of workers under the NDIS Code of Conduct – from the perspective of NDIS participants. The module will help you to understand:

  • What the NDIS is and why we need it
  • The role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Your responsibilities under the NDIS Code of Conduct
  • Your role in achieving the vision of the NDIS

During the module, you will be encouraged to consider and respond to different scenarios in the context of supporting a person with disability.

Who should attend this course?  All registered NDIS providers under the NDIS Commission should include the module within their induction process for workers, and encourage existing workers to undertake the module. The module is also useful for unregistered providers who provide services and products to NDIS participants.

Length of time to complete: Approximately 90 minutes
